Summary
I have started a new book called The Big Field by Mike Lupica. So far in my book, a 14 year old kid named "Hutch" Hutchinson has a passion for the game of baseball. He is team captain on his team, the Post 226 Cardinals. They are on the road to get a chance to play in the World Series in a Minor League field called Roger Dean Stadium. To their benefit, the Cardinals and Hutch gain a new teammate named Darryl. Darryl thinks he is better than everybody else on the team because of his style and the way he plays. Hutch tries to become friends with Darryl, but he rejects with smirks and selfish actions such as not completing plays on purpose so the fault would be on Hutch. Would Hutch and Darryl get along as teammates and get a chance to play in the World Series on Roger Dean Stadium?
Character Analysis
Hutch Hutchinson is an ambitious outgoing teammate on the Post 226 Cardinals. He has the personality and ability that a captain of a team would have. His idol and inspiration to play baseball is Derek Jeter and his dad, Carl Hutchinson. But he doesn't get along with his dad as well because he was never there with him to practice after his dad started to work mad hours in two different jobs. But Hutch got through that and he is one of the best, maybe the best, on his team. Everyday he just wants to play baseball. Day or night he is ambitious to play the game he loves. Hutch always picks up his teammates wether they are winning or losing. Hutch Hutchinson is truly a team player and shows how to play the game of baseball the right way everyday.
